How to Study for Regional Rural Banks ( RRB) Officer Scale I & Assistants

Regional Rural Banks are termed as one of the first differentiated banks in India, which primarily facilitating financial services to rural customers comprising of villagers, laborers etc. Each Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) is sponsored by national banks.

Aspirants who are willing to work in their regional areas and especially in rural areas, may appear in examination for RRB PO / RRB clerk conducted by IBPS. Growth and career progression in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) are well defined and one can become managing director of RRB from Probationary officer.

The Basic Pay-scale for IBPS RRB Officer Scale I is 14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700. The starting In-hand Salary at present varies from Rs. 29,000 – 33,000 at 100% D.A.

Most important thing is that proficiency in local language may provide extra edge to aspirant in RRB examination and knowledge of local language is one of the eligibility criteria set by IBPS. Examination Structure and Question Pattern:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

Note: Candidates have to qualify in each of the both tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.

Cut-off Score:

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for provisional allotment. Depending on the number of vacancies available in each state, candidates will be shortlisted for provisional allotment.

For Officers Scale I - Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main Examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, adequate number of candidates in each category not exceeding three times of the declared vacancies in each state shall be called for interview, subject to availability. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview

Phase III: Interview only for Officer Scale I

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination for Officer Scale I will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
