Indian railways is the fourth largest railway network in world in terms of route length and acting as one of the most critical infrastructure of India. Jobs in Indian railway is considered as most prolific and highly accepted in Indian society. Indian railways is also one of the highest job provider in our country and recruits about 30-50 thousands individuals every year from Group A to Group D.

Union Public Service Commission recruits Group A officers through Civil Services examination for administrative area and Indian engineering services for technical areas.  Various Railway Recruitment boards recruit Group C & Group D posts comprising of Assistant Loco Pilot, Assistant Station Master, Ticket collector, Clerks etc.

Examination Structure for Non-technical popular categories (NTPC) Graduate & under Graduate posts:There shall be two stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Skill Test (Computer based Aptitude Test for Station Master and Traffic Assistant, Typing Skill Test for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper). Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, there shall be two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination
